A military veteran with over three decades of active service, Rahul Bhonsle is now pursuing a second career in research and knowledge management at an independent agency, Security-risks.com which has established a niche for fast track research projects, papers, round tables, security advisories and briefings to military, academia and the corporate sector. His areas of interest include South Asia, future warfare and human security.
He is a regular contributor to leading main stream and professional newspapers, Web sites and Journals and edits a monthly, South Asia Security Trends. He is presently working on Net Assessment of the Indian Armed Forces. The present book is third in the Yearly series and is preceded by similar works in 2006 (India Security Scope: The New Great Game) and 2007 (South Asia Security Trends) which have received favourable professional reviews. These are unique attempts to consider issues of security in South Asia holistically rather than each state separately. The author blends his professional military experience with academic exposure to provide realistic scenarios in the region distilled through interaction with a wide range of experts in the strategic community in South Asia from time to time.
